My most succesful project was the value scale drawing. My final product turned out very similiar to the actuall reference picture. I also learned alot about how shading makes a sketch look three dimensional and more realistic. This project was my favorite because at the beggining I didnt think I was going to be able to create a product that looked similiar to my reference. However as I progressed in the project I realized how shading helps and it turned out to be above average for my skill level. I also learned from the project that the tracing is not what made it loook good, it was the shading.
I learned the most from the self portrait. I learned how far apart facail features are such as the eyes. For example I learned that the space between the eyes is one eye away. I also learned how to high light the hair and make it realistic. I also learned where the nose is located and how to draw it the correct way. Although it wasnt my favorite project overall i learned the most from this project. Before creating our final painting on the canvas we practiced for several days blending colors, creating clouds, blending the sky, and making trees. I used all the techniques in the painting above. Learning how to create the sky helped my painting majorly because it seperated the sky from the water. Also the trees impacted my painting greatly because before I had no idea how to construct a tree like the ones in the picture. Also mixing the colors helped me because i used alot of brown in my picture and i wouldnt have known how to do that otherwise.
I think the least important project was the junk pile art. However i enjoyed creating it. You must be creative but there is not many other skills required. This project was fun and the outcome was good. I didnt think our group would be able to create anything with the junk but, once you start adjusting things you can get a qaulity product.
I think this peice of art reflects me the most as a artist. I am not the best with a pencil or a paintbrush in my hand however I know how to be creative. I enjoyed the photography projects not only the motion capture but the perspective as well. This project reflects me the most because it is fun, creative, and it shows art doesnt have to be done with a paint brush or writing device.
